SNES Classic “Internal” Storage Mod

20180111_015438

Here’s a sneak peak at the upcoming New and Improved SNES Classic “Internal” Storage Mod.

I had planed on releasing this last year, but the holidays caused some delays and I’m still working out some tweaks with the prototype before I release them to the public.

An improved design with more features is already in the works as well 😉

Custom Mods for the SNES Classic

The SNES Classic has been keeping me busy day and night for a solid month now. I’ve be reversing the the systems files to create and in some cases release custom mods for the console.

While I haven’t been keeping you all up to date here (Sorry!), I have been making frequent posts over on a sub Reddit I moderate called miniSNESmods.

I’m enjoy seeing all the people online and on sites like YouTube sharing my Tutorials, and making use of my themes, or creating their own using mine as a template.

As I’m getting more and more requests by people to create custom themes for them, I have decided to create and release some helpful tools that hopefully, will make it easier for everyone to understand and create their own custom themes.

Also in an effort to better share content, I have created a new site (Under Construction) specifically for the classic mods. This site will feature all of the mods I release as well as be a source of information for anyone wanting to dabble in the dark arts of modding their Nintendo Classics.

I will post a link to the new site here, on twitter and on r/miniSNESmods as soon as there’s something worth looking at 😛

Nincade confirmed working on SNES Classic

I just finished installing and testing a Brook Nincade adapter on a SNES Classic with a Wii-mote and it works as expected out of the box. https://imghost.io/image/GIbeC

The NINCADE lets you use a Switch controller/PS4/8Bitdo(iCade mode)/iCade/Wii remote/Wii U Pro Wireless Gamepads and more to play wirelessly on your NES Classic Edition, Nintendo Classic Mini Family Computer as well as the SNES Classic Edition and Super Famicon.

2 Units (Player 1 & 2) + Free Installation is $120

  • Enjoy!

SNESmini UART Mod

I was initially worried when images began leaking online of the SNES Classic’s mainboard because the UART connection found in the NES Classic design was missing in the images. Still I remained hopeful that it was just moved to the backside, and that was indeed the case. I’ve just completed my UART mod on my SNES console for some kernel debugging.

I’ll be spending a lot of time on this, and that’s just what I’ve been doing since I picked the unit up in store today.SNESmini_UART_2in1
